Canggu is a top destination for digital nomads; it is the place to go if you need to get some work done. It inspires a healthy and focused lifestyle with a balance of hard work and fun. While there are plenty of coworking spaces in Canggu, some are merely cafes with WiFi where you can’t really stay all day. Having tried and tested numerous options during my time in Canggu, I have compiled a list of what I consider to be the best coworking spaces in Canggu.
1. Granary Cafe & Workspace
Location: Jl. Batu Belig No.99, Kerobokan Kelod, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung
Cost: Free
Opening hours: 8am – 5pm everyday
This place felt like a hidden gem. I know that term can be thrown around a lot in the travel community, but I truly believe this coworking space deserves it. The cafe is located behind a stunning Balinese style gate, aside from a sign you would be forgiven in thinking that this is a villa. Once you walk through the gate, there is a large pool and outdoor terrace where the bar is located. Upstairs, there is a spacious, bright and air conditioned area with a mixture of high stools and couches. There are also plenty of power outlets and fast WIFI.
Although it is technically free, you are required to purchase either a drink of food, but both options are really good! I recommend the chicken satay!
The only downside is they close the upstairs at 5pm. Although this may suit people who can work flexible hours it is a nuisance for anyone required to work the hours of your home country then it is a problem. Nevertheless, even with this in mind, it is still one of the best coworking spaces in Canggu.
2. Zin Cafe
Location: Jl. Nelayan No.78F, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung
Cost: Free
Opening hours: 7am – 10pm
Zin is a pretty cool spot, boasting three floors it is usually very busy with digital nomads and tourists. However, it is not hard to find a seat across the three floors. The ground floor is mostly for customers visiting only for food, whereas the second floor and rooftop are filled with people on their laptops. The second floor also has a quiet room for anyone needing to focus. It is a super spacious cafe that also offers air conditioning.
In addition to the co-working space, Zin has a wide ranging menu, offering everything from salads to burgers and Indonesian food.
3. B Work Bali
Location: Jl. Nelayan No.9C, Canggu, Kec. Kuta Utara, Kabupaten Badung
Cost: Memberships range from 280,000 to 3,550,000 IDR. Check out the plans here.
Opening hours: 24 hours 7 days a week
B work is for those who are looking to focus and also meet some like minded people in Bali. Everyone can visit the cafe with each purchase giving you 90 minutes of wifi. The cafe is beautiful, it features a bookcase stairway and a little Pomeranian dog who is so friendly. However, if you want to go to the other rooms in B Work you need to purchase a membership, this gives you access to the quiet rooms downstairs and upstairs, the pool area and the rooftops. For any calls or meetings you can also prebook a meeting room. The only negative is that it gets very busy, I sometimes found it difficult to get a good seat.
B Work bali is also great for meeting new people, they hold events every couple of weeks such as BBQ and overnight trips to places like Nusa Penida.
If all that is not enough the rooftop has a large yoga studio and the downstairs has a small gym . You can also get any parcels delivered here.
