What To Know Before You Go
- Best time to visit: December to April (dry season) is the best for sightseeing with comfortable temperatures and less rain. May to November (wet season) sees frequent downpours but accommodation is much more affordable.
- Getting around: Grab and the new Metro line 1. However, District 1 + 3 (where all the main tourist attractions are) is easy to walk around.
- Travel Insurance: I recommend True Traveller for EU/UK citizens and World Nomads for anyone else.
- Carry small notes for street stalls and small restaurants.
- Tap water is not drinkable, you will need to buy bottled water.
- Make sure you book an air-conditioned room, Ho Chi Minh is a hot and humid city.
- Never run out of mobile data with AIRALO. These e-sims are hassle-free and have a variety of data plans. My code TARA1104 gives you $3 off.
