VinWonders Nha Trang Review + Guide

VinWonders, also sometimes called Vin Pearl Island is one of the must-visit attractions in Nha Trang. A world-class Vietnamese theme park featuring Vietnam’s longest cable car ride, a hair-raising zipline and a speedy toboggan along with peaceful landscaped gardens, friendly giraffes and incredible beach views. This VinWonders Nha Trang review covers all you need to know for planning a day here.

Located on the island of Hon Tre, VinWonders is one the most popular places to visit in the coastal city of Nha Trang. If you find yourself tired of the city’s long white sandy beaches (rare, but it happens) a trip to VinWonders will give you an adventure-filled day away from the beach!

How to get to VinWonders Nha Trang

vinwonders cable car

Nha Trang Cable Car

The most popular way to start this fun-filled day at VinWonders Theme Park is to jump on board the longest cable car ride in Vietnam! Lasting 8 minutes you will be treated to uninterrupted views of Hon Tre Island and Nha Trang’s skyline. The ticket will be a round trip so you can see the night skyline on your way back!

The cable car departs from this location.

Speed Boat

For anyone fearful of heights you will be happy to know that there is also a speed boat in operation. The journey lasts about 10 minutes and departs from this location.

Check out the time that the last cable car and ferry leaves VinWonders to Nha Trang because you will be stranded on the island if you miss it.

VinWonders is made up of six distinctive areas:

  • Adventure Land: fairground rides
  • Kings Garden: zoo and feed giraffes
  • World Garden: 5 themed gardens based on continents across the world
  • Sea World: Aquarium with 30,000 fish

The variety of things to do at this Nha Trang theme park ensures that there really is something for all types of visitors. Keep reading to find out my review of each area.

1. Fairy Land

The Zipline – Vinwonders Nha Trang most memorable ride

vinwonders nha thrang theme park zipline

If you only go on one ride at this theme park, make sure it’s the zipline! This ended up being the highlight of my whole day at VinWonders. With a length of 880 metres, it might look scary but I promise it is so much fun!!

To reach the zipline you go via the alpine coaster which is a relaxing 10-minute journey uphill, I found this journey eased my nerves. After reaching the top, the staff provides you with either a solo or twin harness, you need a combined weight of 150 kg to use the twin harness. My boyfriend and I did not meet this requirement so we went individually (the walk of shame from the scales was ego-damaging, to say the least).

When you reach the zipline a few safety checks are performed and you are pushed off into oblivion, with nothing but incredible views ahead (and screams, lots of screams). Kudos to the VinWonders staff, I tried to back out a few times as I was the last person in our group left to go but they were very patient and kind, helped me gather some courage and pushed me off.

The worst part is the anticipation and once you are pushed off there are just two seconds of fear and then it transforms into a surprisingly relaxing journey. You have views of the whole park, the ocean and Nha Trang in the distance. At the end a guy is waiting to take your photo, I was a bit too shaken to pose but I regret it now. The adrenaline of the zipline stayed with us all day!

The whole journey lasts about 30 seconds but it is incredible. Although the ride time was short we did have to wait in a 90-minute queue, therefore I recommend visiting here as soon as you arrive.

Alpine Coaster

VinWonders Review

Another unforgettable ride in VinWonders Nha Trang. We loved this so much that we went on this 3 times (excluding the zipline journey) it really is that much fun!! It takes about 10 minutes to reach the top during a slow and relaxing climb. At the top a guy will check you know how to start/brake your cart, he pushes you off and then the fun begins!

The alpine coaster is best experienced at full speed, so relax and take your hands off the brake. Twice we got stuck behind people continuously pulling the breaks and it felt more like a scenic train ride and it slowed down EVERYONE behind, please do not be that person. Finally, on our last time, we were able to go full speed, this was during the night and because it was dark there were some parts that you could not see (completely safe by the way) which added to the fun. I would definitely recommend experiencing it both during the night and day.

The total ride including climbing to the top takes about 15 minutes.

Adventure World

This is an indoor building with video games (racing and shooting type games) and VR rides. The VR rides are great fun, when you are waiting it appears the rides are a bit boring but when you are on them yourself it is so immersive you forget you are not in the specific situations the VR places you in. It is also a nice break from the heat outside.

2. Adventure Land

vin wonders Adventureland fairground

Adventure Land is the place to come for fairground rides.

During our visit, not all rides were operating only the topspin, rollercoaster, sky drop, swings and sky chaser. I cannot handle being turned upside down so I only went on the swings and sky chaser. The sky chaser involves lying down to create the feeling of flying through the air, it is a really gentle ride, but the unique sensation of lying down during a ride gets old pretty fast, leading to a pretty boring ride.

3. King’s Garden

vin wonders nha trang zoo

King’s Garden is a small zoo, you can find Baboons, Squirrel Monkeys, Sika Deer, White Tigers, Lions, Bengal Tigers, Giraffes, Zebras, Black Bears and Flamingos.

The best part of King’s Garden is feeding the giraffes. For just 15,000 VND you can purchase a small bucket of food outside the giraffe’s habitat. They come over with their long black tongue comically hanging out, and they then very gently take it off you. It was an incredible experience and a highlight of the King’s Garden.

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows here though, sadly the baboons looked like they had infections all over their bum, they seemed stressed and just in an overall bad state. It made me very sad, but it’s important to note that the other animals seemed to be much healthier.

4. World Garden

Travel across five continents in one hour with these five unique World Gardens. You will also find the Sky Wheel in this part of VinWonders Park. A 120-metre Ferris wheel with 360 views of Hon Tre Island.

Here is what you can expect to find at each of the 5 gardens:

  1. Rose Garden – this garden has up to 10,000 roses
  2. Japanese Gardens – a serene garden with a Koi pond, tea house, tori gate and red bridges
  3. Cacti Land – this feels like you are in the desert, a completely different landscape to the rest of the gardens with 8,000 cacti.
  4. Sky Garden – South American-themed garden.

In addition to the Sky Wheel and 5 Gardens, a stunning view can be found at the white-walled watch tower.

We really enjoyed this part of VinWonders Nha Trang, we needed a break from all the rides and walking around these gardens was relaxing. I usually find gardens boring, but the different themes made it very interesting.

5. Sea World

Sea World Nha Trang

The main attraction at Sea World, this is a small aquarium with a very cool tunnel you walk through with all kinds of fish and sharks swimming above you. If there are no crowds you will likely walk through here in 5 – 10 minutes.

6. Tropical Paradise

This place is a big waterpark with 39 rides, it gets very hot in Nha Trang so a water park is needed to cool you down.

Food Options At VinWonders Nha Trang

In all honesty, the day we visited the food options at VinWonders left a lot to be desired. We ended up visiting the fast food chain Lotteria, ordering fried chicken covered in a cheesy sauce and chips. It was enough to keep the hunger at bay but we were disappointed there was a lack of nice Vietnamese restaurants throughout the park. On top of this, the restaurants had different opening hours so many were closed during peak times.

Here are a few highly-rated restaurants in the park:

Conclusion

To summarise this VinWonders Nha Trang review, overall it was a super fun day. There is so much to see and do that your whole day will be action-packed. The must-do rides are the zipline and alpine coaster, both adrenaline-inducing with incredible views. In addition to the fun Along with the attractions, it appeared as though safety was of the highest priority, I did not feel as though this was compromised at any time.

It is a shame visitors are not allowed to bring their own water as it gets very hot during the day but there are plenty of stalls along the way to get a few drinks or ice cream. Moreover, there is room for improvement regarding dining options.

Tips For Visiting VinWonders Nha Trang

  • Wear comfortable shoes, you will be doing lots of walking
  • Pack sunscreen and a hat, there isn’t much shade and it can get HOT
  • Do not pack any food or water, your bags are checked before boarding the cable car/speedboat
  • Make note of the last cable car/speedboat or else you will be stuck on the island until the next morning
  • Visit the zipline as soon as you arrive to minimise the time you need to queue. It is one of the most popular attractions in the park and can get very busy

Where To Stay In Nha Trang

There are 4 Vinpearl hotels on the island, each offering its own unique experience, however, they are expensive. If you are on a budget and only plan to spend 1 day at VinWonders then Nha Trang City is a more affordable option.

Have you visited VinWonders? I would love to hear about your experience below, what did you like, did you go on the zipline?
